Beginners Botanical Lino Print Workshop Carey's Secret Garden
Come and join me for a relaxing and creative session of printmaking . From the beautiful converted barn, overlooking the gardens I will guide you through the techniques and tools needed to create your own unique prints.
You will have time to take a walk around the beautiful tranquil secret garden where you will find plenty of botanical inspiration for your design, Everyone will receive a beautiful hard-backed spiral book to sketch your ideas into. I will also provide example projects that can be copied or traced. After this, you can enjoy a complimentary cup of tea or coffee from the onsite coffee shop 'The Secret Salt Pig'.
During the day I will show you how to use the traditional materials and carving tools effectively, and share hints and tips for success! You will be guided through every part of the process, so no previous creative skills are required, this is great for everyone! You will print your design onto print-making paper ready to take home and frame, in addition, you will use a press to print your design onto the front of your sketchbook, making a wonderful gift for someone or a lovely book to keep for yourself.
There will be a 45 minute lunch time where you can enjoy the garden and maybe get yourself some food from the coffee shop if you wish.
Lino Print is a very relaxing and mindful craft and Careys beautiful walled garden is the perfect setting to learn all about it and get creative!

How to design a single colour Lino Print
How to use the carving tools and other equipment used to create a print
You will produce a set of two frameable copies of your design to take home and enjoy.
I will provide a selection of design ideas to choose from , which can be copied or traced. You can of course do your own design if you have one, howver please bear in mind to keep it fairly simple with out too much fine detail for the beginners workshops
